1. Store rainwater in it for watering your garden and other plants.

2. Paint it and use it for a planter for outdoor foliage.

3. Turn it over and use it for a stool to sit on while you are outside.

4. Turn it over and have your parents attach a sheet of plywood to the bottom of the barrel and use it for an outdoor table.

5. Store recyclables in it until your trash pick-up day or until you have enough to bring to the recycling center.

6.  Decorate it as a piece of artwork and leave it in the yard for people to see. You might even get some neighbors to notice it and realize they should not burn either.

7.  Turn it in to a compost bin (use these easy steps).

8.  Donate it to your local scrap metal salvager (you might even get a few dollars for recycling the metal).

9.  Donate it to a local charity that might be able to use it.

10. Bring it to your school to use for a paper-recycling bin in your classroom.
