Why Shouldn’t I Burn Trash?

Unnecessary?

Today, there is little need to open burn. There are many alternatives for those who choose not to open burn such as, roadside pick-up, drop off sites, composting, reducing, reusing, and recycling facilities. In fact, recycling is the law in Wisconsin. Items such as glass, plastic, paper, cardboard, and newspaper are required to be recycled, and should not be placed in a burn barrel. Adding composted leaves and yard clippings to your garden will help your plants grow, too.
